November Resolutions

Many of us wait until January 1st to hit our resolutions hard. Some of us literally hit the ground running just hours after the New Year’s eve countdown. We successfully go through January feeling pumped up and ready to concur the world. Then in comes February. We hit the snooze button once on Monday, twice on Tuesday, and from there all is lost. It’s like we never had any goals to begin with. It’s an unfortunate truth, but it doesn’t have to be that way. My question to you is, why? Why wait? Why not now? Why not make today your January 1st?

Recently Jan and I have been talking a lot about how we need to be more consistent and committed in nearly every area of our lives. Our spiritual growth, health, careers, finances, marriage, and family goals can all use a little extra TLC. Don’t get me wrong, Jan and I are doing pretty well for the most part, but I know we can do and be so much better. We always share our dreams and aspirations for life, but we lack the motivation to put action behind them. Well, it’s about time for a change, real change. Somehow I’ve convinced Jan to walk this journey with me. I anticipate that some things we’ll have to go it alone, but for the most part we can function as a team in achieving our goals.

Today, Thursday November 8th, is my January 1st. Only, the goals you will find here are not temporary goals that require a deadline. These are lifestyle goals. Goals that I personally feel I should be striving to be great at, or at least decent in every day. Basically, I never want to be standing in one place. On November 8th 2019, I want to look back at this post and see a clear transformation. I want constant and consistent growth. Don’t you?

Starting this month, I’ll be sharing my journey in becoming more committed and consistent. Earlier I mentioned how nearly every area in my life could use a little more TLC, but I can’t tackle everything at once. To avoid overwhelming myself I’ll be prioritizing my goals, while adding on more with time. The one goal I’m eager to become committed and consistent with, is my health. Now when I say health, I don’t just mean the food that I consume and the physical shape that I’m in. That’s only one portion of it. The other part of living a healthier lifestyle is all mental. I want to improve my overall health, both psychological and physical.
